Abstract

This article will present and contextualize three moments in the existence of the Hashomer Hatzair Jewish Youth Movement in Chile: its appearance in the early 1940s - through young German immigrants who had escaped Nazi barbarism, late 1960s - the convulsed Chilean society before the emergence of the Popular Unity, and the current era, with the aim of reflecting on how those certain contexts influenced the movement, its operation and its action.
